Team Members
Our Team
The Mischief and Malice team is comprised of a diverse group of students
in the Museum Studies programme at the University of Toronto. This virtual
exhibition represents the collected efforts of each student over the past
two years of their Master's degree.
Jung-Hee Ban graduated
with a degree in clothing and textile science at Seoul Women's University
in Korea. She also completed the Publication Design and Hypermedia Technology
Program at John Abbot College in Montreal. She is most interested in new
media practice in museums and world heritage issues.
Jen Bawden hails
from Halifax, Nova Scotia where she completed a Bachelor of Science degree
in microbiology & immunology and the history of science & technology from
the University of King's College. Her interest in science and communication
led her to the Museum Studies program at the University of Toronto after
which she hopes to apply her knowledge in a science museum or science
centre.
Amanda Burrows completed
her undergraduate degree in art history at the University of Victoria
in 2005. After graduation she plans on working towards a business degree.
Monica Carota completed
her undergraduate degree in art history at Concordia University in Montréal,
Québec. Upon completion of her master's degree, Monica hopes to work in
an art gallery as a project manager or exhibition designer.
Charleen Davidson
earned her Bachelor of Arts (with Great Distinction) from the University
of Lethbridge where she majored in history. A recipient of the Social
Sciences and Humanities Research Council's Canada Graduate Scholarship,
her current research interests include issues of repatriation, museum
ethics, and community consultation.
Nick Gamble completed
a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies with a minor in fine arts history
at the University of Prince Edward Island in 2006. Upon graduation from
the Museum Studies program, Nick is interested in working in fundraising,
public relations, and web development in museums.
Alexandra Gregg
has an undergraduate degree in art history and communications from McGill
University in Montréal, Québec. She plans on following a career in exhibition
planning and programming.
Jason Hornosty graduated
from the University of Toronto in 2007 with a master's degree in atmospheric
physics. Currently freelancing as a programmer, in the future, Jason hopes
to use his science background as a stepping stone for a career in public
policy.
Jes Koepfler graduated
from the University of Virginia in 2004 with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree
in archaeology and classics. Upon completion of her master's degree in
museum studies from the University of Toronto, she will begin work as
a Research Associate at the Institute for Learning Innovation in Edgewater,
Maryland.
Cathy Leekam holds
a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Toronto where she completed
a specialist in history and a major in anthropology, and also holds a
master's in European history from University College, London, England.
Her training in the Museum Studies program has focused on curatorial practice,
as well as historical and multicultural research in a museum context.
Meredith Leonard
graduated from McMaster University with a dual Bachelor of Arts degree
in history and political science. Upon completion of her graduate degree
in museum studies, she intends to pursue a career in development and public
relations.
Rachel Libman
completed her Bachelor of Arts degree in history at York University
in 2005 and Master of Arts degree in history at the University of Toronto
in 2006. She will receive her master’s degree in museum studies from the
University of Toronto in June 2008. Rachel is looking forward to pursuing
an active career in the museum and gallery world and is particularly interested
in Holocaust museums.
Diana McNally completed
a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in design art and art history from Concordia
University in Montréal, Québec. After completing her master's degree,
Diana plans to continue pursuing her burgeoning career as a professional
artist, particularly in the fields of print design and illustration.
Stephanie Nemcsok
graduated with a Bachelor of Arts, Honours, from Queen's University with
a medial in political studies and international development studies. With
the completion of her Master of Museum Studies degree from the University
of Toronto, Stephanie plans to pursue a career in both collections work
and public program development.
Jennifer Ng specialized
in semiotics and communication theories during her undergraduate studies
at the University of Toronto, with minors in anthropology and Italian
communication studies. Upon graduation she intends to pursue a career
in exhibition development, focused specifically on interpretive planning
and new media.
Angela Noseworthy
has obtained a Bachelor of Arts with Honours and a Diploma in Heritage
Resources from Memorial University in St. John's, Newfoundland with concentrations
in archaeology/physical anthropology and classics. After receiving her
master’s degree, she plans to pursue a career in either the collections
management or public education field of museums.
Elizabeth Peterson
obtained an undergraduate degree in history, art history, and museum studies
from Central Michigan University in 2006. After completing graduate work
at the University of Toronto, she plans to pursue a museum career in community
outreach, public programming, and interpretive/exhibition planning.
Ivan Tanzer completed
an undergraduate degree in art history at Concordia University in Montréal,
Québec. He is now pursuing a career in exhibition development and fundraising
for cultural organizations. Building upon his interests in management
and museums, he hopes to establish himself in both Toronto and Montréal.
